Short CV (PDF)

« 3D Segmentation Benchmark »

The 3D Segmentation Benchmark website proposes a repository of 3D-meshes along with manually-obtained ground-truth segmentations for the evaluation of segmentation methods. An automatic evaluation toolkit is also available.

Research

Member of the MIIRE research group
from the Computer Science Department — LIFL (UMR USTL/CNRS 8022)
of the University of Sciences and Technologies of Lille 1, France.

Research interests

Three-dimensional model indexing and topological analysis. The 3D-models are often used in video games, virtual worlds, simulation, cultural heritage, etc. Consequently, indexing and analysing this kind of data has become a key issue.

Projects

  • Member — and scientific manager for University Lille 1 partner — of the MADRAS project supported by the ANR (January 2008 – December 2010, extended to September 2011), project reference ANR-07-MDCO-015.
  • Member of the Network of Excellence on Digital Libraries DELOS No. 507618 (European Commission's Information Society Technologies Programme (IST)).
  • Member of the RNRT project SEMANTIC-3D (November 2002 to January 2006).
  • Member of the GdR ISIS, representative for the LIFL.

The complete list of publications in which I am co-author is also available.

PhD students co-direction

  • Rachid El Khoury, since September 2009, "3D-model indexing by parts". PhD Thesis granted within the framework of Futur et Ruptures program from the Institut Telecom and supervised in collaboration with Mohamed Daoudi.

Former students:

  • Halim Benhabiles, "3D-mesh segmentation: automatic evaluations and a new learning-based method" (2008-2011). PhD thesis defended on 18 October 2011 at TELECOM ille 1, granted within the framework of the ANR MADRAS project, and supervised in collaboration with Guillaume Lavoué and Mohamed Daoudi.
